International companies participating in ADIPEC are underscoring their commitment to the UAE’s energy transition — not only through advanced technologies, but also by cultivating local expertise and long-term partnerships.
ADIPEC, the world’s largest energy exhibition, provides a platform to demonstrate how global expertise and local collaboration can accelerate the UAE’s energy transition, said Benoît Verdier, Managing Director at Technip Energies, a global technology and engineering leader in energy infrastructure and decarbonisation.
The company, listed on Euronext Paris, has a long-standing presence in the region.
Verdier noted that Technip has operated in the Middle East for over 50 years and in the UAE since 1984, with a consistent focus on nurturing national talent.
“We have a multicultural workforce of more than 1,200 professionals representing 40 nationalities ... and we actively recruit and develop Emirati professionals in line with the UAE’s initiatives,” Verdier said.
He added that more than 60 Emiratis have already been recruited and trained within the company’s Abu Dhabi operations, reflecting a dedication to building “a sustainable talent pipeline”.
Similarly, pipeline technology specialist Stats Group reaffirmed its support for the country’s Emiratisation programme.
“We’re taking young engineers into the business, training them, and developing them into valuable assets that really help the business [while advancing their own professional growth],” said Mark Gault, Vice President for the Middle East at Stats Group.
Founded in Aberdeen, Scotland, in 1998, Stats Group expanded to the UAE in 2012 and has since grown from a two-person team to more than 100 employees based in Abu Dhabi.
For the company, ADIPEC represents “a great opportunity to connect with clients, strengthen relationships, and align with regional sustainability goals”, Gault said.
“We’re a niche technology provider, so this is a great opportunity for us to showcase our technology to a vast audience. Even though we already work with major clients in the region, the process never stops — it’s about educating new people and showing how our technology supports environmental goals,” he added.
