ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), in collaboration with the Lives and Livelihoods Fund (LLF), has hosted a specialised workshop on “Adaptive Results Based Management” (aRBM) to promote knowledge exchange and the adoption of global best practices in development project management.

The initiative reflects ADFD’s commitment to advancing operational excellence and institutional effectiveness by applying modern methodologies and strategic frameworks to improve project performance. The workshop, attended by national leadership and technical experts, showcased practical tools and flexible approaches that enhance all stages of the project lifecycle — from planning and implementation to monitoring and results-focused evaluation. Case studies demonstrated how the aRBM framework supports better-informed decisions and measurable on-the-ground impact.

Executive Director of Operations Sector at ADFD, Adel Abdullah Al Hosani, said, “Sharing our extensive experience with partners and engaging with international best practices is a cornerstone of the Fund’s strategy to strengthen institutional frameworks and ensure the sustainability of development impact across our projects. This workshop reflects ADFD’s ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and enhancing the Fund’s agility in responding to global developments.”

Head of the Lives and Livelihoods Fund, Dr Bandar Alhoweish, said, “This workshop emphasises our strategic partnership with ADFD, serving as a valuable platform to advance our shared goals. It supports high-impact development initiatives and enhances community well-being by driving economic activity and fostering the growth of key sectors in the least developed member countries of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB). The workshop’s outcomes will deliver tangible results by enabling knowledge exchange and integrating institutional expertise.”

Launched in 2016, the Lives and Livelihoods Fund is a $2.5 billion development initiative jointly established by ADFD, the Islamic Development Bank, the Gates Foundation, the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, and the Qatar Fund for Development. As the largest initiative of its kind in the Middle East, the LLF enables low-income countries to access the financial resources needed to support their development priorities.
