The Emirates Foundation, in collaboration with Aflatoun International, hosted a Financial Education Advocacy Workshop in Abu Dhabi aimed at sharing insights from their latest report on the integration of social and financial education in the UAE.

The initiative aims to enhance financial literacy and well-being across the UAE, bringing together key stakeholders from the public and private sectors to collaborate on a unified strategy for financial education.

As part of the Emirates Foundation's Federal Initiative to promote financial well-being and sustainability, the workshop highlighted key findings and strategies from Aflatoun, a globally recognised non-profit organisation focused on social and financial education.

The report aims to elevate and unify financial education for all students in the UAE, further strengthened by partnerships with First Abu Dhabi Bank and Visa.

The workshop featured a comprehensive analysis and recommendations for integrating financial literacy and education in the UAE, based on an extensive study conducted by Aflatoun, which has supported over 29 countries in similar efforts globally.

Key stakeholders contributed to discussions aimed at driving meaningful change within the UAE's financial education framework.

This event marked a significant milestone in the unification of financial education strategy, allowing for the exchange of initiatives, ideas, and expertise among important business and educational leaders.

COO of Emirates Foundation, Mohanna Al Muhairi, said, "This workshop is a crucial step towards enhancing financial literacy across the country. By uniting our efforts with key stakeholders, we can create a robust framework that empowers future generations with the financial knowledge they need to thrive."

Director of Humanities and Languages Curriculum at Ministry of Education, Dr Sameera Abdullah Al Hosani, said, “Collaborating on financial education is vital for equipping our students with the skills necessary for their financial well-being. Together, we can build a sustainable future.”

The finalised strategy and action plan developed from this workshop will accelerate the advancement of financial education for all students in the UAE, ensuring the country continues to improve in international league tables and secure the financial prosperity of future generations.
