Samsung on Wednesday unveiled its new Galaxy S26 series of smartphones, introducing the Galaxy S26 Ultra, S26+ and S26 models, powered by what the company described as its most intuitive, proactive, and adaptive Galaxy AI experiences yet.
The new line-up combines upgraded hardware, enhanced thermal management, and an advanced camera system, with a strong focus on performance and imaging, the company said in a statement. The latest line of phones comes after the South Korean giant lost its leadership in the smartphone segment to Apple last year.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra features a 6.9-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. Measuring 78.1 x 163.6 x 7.9mm and weighing 214g, it is the slimmest Ultra model to date. It is powered by the customised Snapdragon® 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy, delivering significant performance gains.
The S26 Ultra houses a quad rear camera setup, including a 200MP wide camera, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, a 50MP telephoto camera and a 10MP telephoto lens. The front camera is 12MP. The device comes with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, a 5,000mAh battery, and supports wired charging of up to 75% in around 30 minutes with a 60W adapter.
The Galaxy S26 features a 6.3-inch display, while the S26+ offers a larger 6.7-inch display. The S26 measures 71.7 x 149.6 x 7.2mm and weighs 167g, whereas the S26+ measures 75.8 x 158.4 x 7.3mm and weighs 190g. Both models are powered by either the Snapdragon® 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy or the Exynos 2600 chipset, depending on the market.
The rear camera system on the S26 and S26+ includes a 50MP wide camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a 10MP telephoto camera. The front camera on both devices is 12MP. Memory configurations include 12GB RAM paired with up to 512GB of storage.
Battery capacity stands at 4,300mAh for the S26 and 4,900mAh for the S26+. The S26 supports wired charging of up to 55% in around 30 minutes with a 25W adapter, while the S26+ can reach up to 69% in 30 minutes with a 45W adapter.
