As part of its participation at ADIPEC 2025, Al Fanar Gas Group has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Advanced Mobility Hub (AMH), a subsidiary of Multi Level Group (MLG), to integrate drone technology into its operations.
The fully autonomous drones feature advanced infrared imaging, night vision, and automated docking systems that allow for battery and camera changes according to mission needs.
With a coverage radius of more than 16 kilometres, they will enable safer and more efficient monitoring of gas networks.
"This drone project represents a milestone in our digital transformation journey," explained Arsalan Ahmed, General Manager of Al Fanar Gas Group in Abu Dhabi.
"It enhances our ability to ensure safety and operational excellence while supporting sustainability goals."
Ahmed said that Al Fanar's digital transformation strategy goes beyond automation. "We are transitioning into a paperless environment, equipped with a state-of-the-art ERP system," he added. "Our ambition is to evolve from a traditional gas service provider into a smart utility operator".
Founded in 1990 and headquartered in Abu Dhabi, Al Fanar Gas Group has served as a cornerstone of the UAE's energy infrastructure for over 35 years.
"For more than three decades, Al Fanar has been more than a gas provider - we have been a key contributor to the UAE's growth," he said. "Our vision is to redefine the energy sector through excellence, reliability and innovation."
Looking ahead, Ahmed reaffirmed that Al Fanar is aligning its operations with the UAE's decarbonisation and Net Zero 2050 objectives.
"We are working toward sustainable, energy-efficient solutions and collaborating with partners in decarbonisation," he said. "By embracing innovation and technology, we aim to ensure that our services remain reliable, safe, and environmentally responsible."
