Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC), marking its 10th year of participation in ADIPEC, is setting its sights on global expansion while highlighting one of its key achievements — the inauguration of the emirate’s first solar power plant.

A government-owned entity that manages Sharjah’s oil and gas concession assets, SNOC opened the SANA power plant earlier this year. Delivering 60 MW of clean energy, the facility stands as the emirate’s first and largest utility-scale solar power plant, and notably, the first in the world designed to power its own oil and gas operations, according to Khamis Al Mazrouei, CEO of SNOC.

“SANA connects to the grid to decarbonise our operations. The energy generated is enough to power more than 13,000 homes,” Al Mazrouei told Aletihad during ADIPEC.

The solar plant underscores SNOC’s commitment to decarbonisation and energy independence, while reinforcing Sharjah’s position on the global clean energy map, he added.

Building on its established presence as a prominent regional and national energy player, SNOC is now charting a path for continued growth and expansion.

“We are moving to become an international player, and ADIPEC is the right forum for us to expand,” Al Mazrouei said.

For SNOC, ADIPEC serves as a significant platform to stay connected with the industry.

“SNOC is delighted … to join the world’s largest energy conference, to meet our customers and share our experience, and learn from others,” said Al Mazrouei.
