ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

SEHA, a subsidiary of PureHealth, the largest healthcare group in the Middle East, has proudly shared the successful outcome of a complex fertility journey at Corniche Fertility Centre, part of SEHA IVF.

The birth of a healthy baby girl in April 2025 stands as a testament to the centre’s unwavering commitment to patient-centred care and clinical excellence, achieved through a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach.

The patient, Noura, was a 39-year-old woman from Abu Dhabi suffering from secondary infertility for six years prior to her visit to the Corniche Fertility Centre.

She had a history of four early miscarriages following IVF cycles and had one successful delivery prior to that in 2017.

Following multiple unsuccessful treatment cycles at two additional fertility centres, Noura was referred to Corniche Fertility Centre with eight viable embryos left over from previous IVF cycles.

Corniche Fertility Centre gathered a group of practitioners who used a holistic, patient-centred approach, with the aim of providing comprehensive care by communicating with its specialised Preconception Clinic (Internal Medicine) and Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic.

It was important to ensure optimal health, given the patient's medical history of Type 2 Diabetes and previous pregnancy losses, during a round of full assessment to help reduce the risk of further miscarriage.

In August 2024, one embryo was ultimately transferred after appropriate medical preparation had been completed.

Pregnancy was confirmed by ultrasound at the end of August, and on April 8, 2025, the patient delivered a healthy baby girl - her first successful delivery after IVF treatment.

Reproductive and IVF Specialist at Corniche Hospital, Dr. Raquel Loja Vitorino, said, “This was a particularly complex case due to the patient’s history of pregnancy loss even after transferring genetically viable embryos.”

“The successful delivery after the first treatment cycle at our centre reflects the strength of our integrated approach and the exceptional quality of care we provide.”
