Sahatna, an integrated mobile app that empowers residents to manage their health, launched by the Department of Health - Abu Dhabi (DoH) during GITEX Global 2024, registered great success with over 300,000 downloads, according to Ibrahim Al Jallaf, Executive Director of Digital Health Sector at the DoH.
The Sahatna application allows users to manage their health affairs and those of their family members, enabling them to stay abreast with all details pertaining to their health and treatment journey.
The app allows its users to access all wellness sector services in Abu Dhabi: booking appointments for in-person or teleconsultations, and accessing medical reports, among other features.
More than 870,000 lab reports and 440,000 prescriptions have been downloaded through the application, allowing users to access their medical records with complete privacy and ease, lab results, examination lists, medications, and vaccination records, Al Jallaf told Aletihad.
Furthermore, an AI symptom checker is available on the app to which users can put in symptoms they are experiencing, he said.
This tool then identifies potential conditions and provides guidance and instructions based on the severity of the symptoms. This is to help users determine whether they should go to the emergency room or an urgent care centre.
The app allows users to arrange appointments from anywhere, whether in-person or virtually, allowing users to access medical advice and later review their reports with medications prescribed.
It is also meant to integrate with smartwatches to improve the user experience, providing insights on sleep patterns and the number of steps walked.
Additionally, the app offers users personalised health goals and recommendations according to activity and movement history to motivate them towards adopting positive healthy lifestyles.
The application is scheduled to include new features and updates, some of which focus on promoting public health and leveraging artificial intelligence, according to Al Jallaf.
