Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), highlighted the far-reaching impact of GITEX GLOBAL as a catalyst for international collaborations in the tech domain during her visit to the exhibition on Wednesday.

Taking place at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) from October 14-18, GITEX GLOBAL has rewritten records for international participation in its 44th year.

The largest and best-rated tech event worldwide has brought together over 6,500 exhibitors alongside 1,800 start-ups and 1,200 investors, in addition to governments from more than 180 countries.

With GITEX GLOBAL 2024 confirmed as the biggest-ever international edition, H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed highlighted the critical nature of cross-continental collaboration as digital transformation unfolds at unprecedented speed and scale.

Her Highness said: “As nations strive to accelerate tangible progress while pursuing digital socio-economic sustainability, constructive and mutually beneficial collaboration and cooperation that transcends geographic boundaries is imperative. With the brightest minds, remarkably creative talents, and most pioneering enterprises and startups working side-by-side, humanity can prosper in ways past generations could never have imagined. This is why GITEX GLOBAL is more significant than ever on its 44th anniversary.”

Her Highness also highlighted GITEX GLOBAL’s status as one of the UAE’s most iconic and influential international events, adding: “Being here in person and seeing the engagement and camaraderie first-hand, there should be no doubt that GITEX GLOBAL will play a starring role in the global community’s technological transformation long into the future. By bringing the entire technology ecosystem together, we are destined to thrive long into the future.”

With five daily themes headlining the GITEX GLOBAL 2024 programme, Sheikha Latifa’s visit coincided with ‘Cybersecurity Day’ as some of the world’s foremost experts discussed the latest challenges, trends, and opportunities across the cybersecurity landscape.

During a tour of the exhibition, Her Highness interacted with exhibitors at various pavilions and booths representing UAE and international entities.

Her Highness, in the presence of Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) and Director General of the Dubai World Trade Centre Authority, visited the e& stand featuring a range of innovative services, most notably the ‘smart home’ service, which employs AI to recognise the user’s needs and adapts to them by gleaning preferences and habits and tracking people’s health indicators.

Furthermore, H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed toured the Huawei booth, where she was briefed by officials from the company about its latest smart digital products and solutions that enable companies and businesses to achieve advanced levels of digital transformation by leveraging AI capabilities.

At the H3C booth, Her Highness was apprised about AI strategies and advanced technologies offered by the company to accelerate digital transformation.
