In the presence of His Royal Highness, Prince Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, Regent of Pahang, son of His Majesty Al-Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, King of Malaysia, Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities has partnered with Universiti Islam Pahang Sultan Ahmad Shah (UnIPSAS) and Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPAS), as part of efforts to strengthen scientific and cultural partnerships with Malaysian academic institutions.

The partnerships are also aimed at deepening ties with regional and international cultural centres, as well as enhancing relations with international institutions by exchanging knowledge and scientific experience.

In addition, the outreach intends to share the university’s humanitarian message internationally.

The two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed by His Excellency Dr Khalifa Mubarak Al Dhaheri, Chancellor of Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities, as well as by Professor Muhammad Zawawi bin Zain Al-Abidin, President of Universiti Islam Pahang Sultan Ahmad Shah, and Dr Yusri bin Zain Al-Din, President of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah.

The two MoUs were signed with the aim of exchanging scientific and academic experience, and for the two Malaysian universities to benefit from the experience of Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities in the field of developing Islamic and social studies.

The terms of the MoUs with the two Malaysian universities covered a number of areas and are aimed to foster future cooperation, including coordination between faculty members of both institutions for joint academic activities in education and teaching, as well as participation in research and scientific studies.

A faculty exchange programme is also being planned, along with a similar initiative for students.

As part of the agreement, the institutions will share academic materials, publications and scientific documents, organise joint activities such as training courses, seminars, scientific conferences, research projects, and facilitate the exchange of PhD students and the supervision of scientific theses in joint graduate programmes.

His Excellency Dr Khalifa Mubarak Al Dhaheri, Chancellor of Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities stressed the importance of the MoUs in fulfilling the vision and strategy of the university in strengthening academic and cultural relations with other organisations, enhancing communication and overall ties, as well as supporting common values and ideas, especially those advocated by the university, including diversity, pluralism, moderation, acceptance of others, respect for identity, tolerance and peace, as well as openness to different cultures and peoples of the world.

In addition, His Excellency highlighted Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities’ extensive network with academic institutions regionally and internationally, as part of its efforts to collaborate with institutions with similar values of achieving common goals and being of service to humanity.

His Excellency stated that the university will continue to seek and establish new partnerships to enhance its reputation as a prestigious academic centre in the fields of humanities as well as social and philosophical sciences and presenting Islam and Arab culture to the world based by spreading the virtues of tolerance, love, and respect for human rights.

His Excellency reaffirmed that Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities will spare no effort in implementing the terms of the two MoUs and is looking forward to future strategic cooperation with Malaysian academic institutions.
