Preparatory meetings for the third edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit kicked off on Thursday in Dubai and will run until June 8.
These meetings bringing together over 25 globally renowned figures who play a key role in content creation and influencing public opinion via major social media platforms.
Their aim is to brainstorm the themes and agenda for the third edition of the summit, the world’s largest meetup of content creators and media influencers organized by the New Media Academy, the first digital media academy of its kind in the Middle East.
Additionally. they aim to promote the summit’s role as a platform to launch ideas, strategies, and initiatives that drive new media’s contribution as a creative industry supporting national economies and sustainable development goals, as well as bolster the role of the UAE’s creator economy.
Furthermore, these meetings will include a series of interactive sessions where experts and content creators share expertise.
The exchange aims to help promote the summit on a wider scale and advance its role in shaping the future of content creation and new media globally by sharing knowledge and extending partnerships and collaborations between influencers, content producers, and social media platforms.
Moreover, these meetings seek to help establish advanced themes that support the summit’s role in creating a roadmap for meaningful, sustainable content.

“Twenty-five CEOs, experts, content creators, and media personalities from nine countries are taking part in the preparatory meetings for the 1 Billion Followers Summit in its third edition, where they will brainstorm ideas and programmes aimed at enriching the global event and maximising its impact. It allows content creators to share experiences and exposes them to collaboration opportunities that drive the positive impact of digital content and new media, while increasing the size of the creative industry and boosting its contribution to sustainable development plans regionally and globally,” Al Hammadi noted.
“Since its first edition, the 1 Billion Followers Summit has helped set in motion a regional and global creative movement that meets the need for digital and creative skills and supports the strategies of a high-potential digital economy. Through its sessions and discussions, the event highlights new media contributions to national economies, promotes key skills needed across digital platforms, and offers a unique platform for connection and collaboration among content creators from different countries and backgrounds,” she concluded.
In its second edition, the summit set new records with over 7,000 participants from 95 countries around the world, including over 3,000 content creators, influencers, and creatives.
The event garnered more than 300 million engagements across social media platforms.
During the event, several partnerships and agreements signed at the summit brought together content creators with some of the 200 attending content and media agencies, with the aim of further enhancing and diversifying digital content.
The summit welcomed 195 speakers that included renowned influencers and content creators from around the world, featured 15 inspiring keynotes, interactive dialogues, and 100 activities.
