Cyber Security Hub features leading innovative technologies and breakthroughs at ISNR Abu Dhabi 2024

ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

Under the patronage of His Highness Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, the International Exhibition for National Security and Resilience (ISNR Abu Dhabi 2024) saw the launch of the new Cyber Security Hub by the UAE Cyber Security Council. 

The Cyber Security Hub was a dedicated feature aimed at educating and showcasing successful cases of cyber security, as well as hosting a cyber security competition, which reflected the growing importance of cyber security in today's evolving threat landscape.

During ISNR Abu Dhabi 2024, the UAE Cybersecurity Council successfully achieved a Guinness World Record by implementing the largest simulation model for cyber threats at successfully.

This cyber security simulation falls in line with the “We The UAE 2031” vision, which aims to build an interconnected and effective society, capable of keeping abreast with global developments in various fields.

Each day of ISNR Abu Dhabi 2024, the Cyber Security Hub hosted activities including the “Capture the Flag” competition, a collaboration between UAE Cyber Security Council and CTF.ae.

This cyber security exercise is designed to evaluate the cyber security skills and knowledge of participants.

During the “Capture the Flag” competition, participants performed 10 cyber related tasks, including hacking artificial intelligence, cryptography and various other coding challenges.

Students and young professionals took part in this challenge, with the youngest participant aged 14 years old.

On day three of ISNR Abu Dhabi 2024, Mohammed Aloraimi was named as the “Capture the Flag” winner, followed by Mohamed Almehairbi and Abdel Moumen demonstrating high level understanding of cyber skills.

This competition reaffirmed the Council’s aim to develop a comprehensive strategy and strong cyber infrastructure in the UAE. 

Several memorandums of understanding were signed between the UAE Cybersecurity Council and leading UAE companies and associations throughout ISNR Abu Dhabi 2024, including the United Arab Emirates Football Association.

Here the two parties agreed towards spreading awareness of cybersecurity issues in the sports sector and enhancing the protection of the different sectors in the country from the different types of cyberattack.
