As part of its ongoing efforts to prepare qualified teams of scientific researchers, the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research on Wednesday organised a graduation ceremony for 60 trainees from the second, third, fourth, and fifth batches of the Strategic Researcher - Foundation Stage programme.

On this occasion, His Excellency Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President, honoured the graduates by handing them their certificates during the ceremony.

In his speech, His Excellency pointed out that the importance of the programme lies in its inclusivity of all state entities, providing researchers with the tools they need to conduct strategic analysis and organise ideas.

Dr. Sultan Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director-General of the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research, said that the centre attaches the utmost importance to training researchers capable of providing comprehensive analytical insights to support decision-making in the country based on solid scientific foundations.

Al Nuaimi explained that the programme represents the first step in a series of training programmes to prepare experts in strategic analysis, policy, economics, advanced sciences, and artificial intelligence.

The graduation ceremony was attended by Ali Al Ahmad, Assistant Undersecretary for Defense Policies and Communication at the Ministry of Defence, Dr. Faisal Al Ayyan, Director of the Higher Colleges of Technology, and Dr. Hamad Al Kaabi, Chief News Center Officer of Aletihad News Center, in addition to representatives from several government entities.

The Strategic Researcher programme aims to support the building of trainees’ basic capabilities under the supervision of a group of experts, academics, and researchers.

CeremonyThe graduation ceremony began with the playing of the national anthem of the UAE, followed by a short film introducing the Strategic Researcher programme and the importance of training research personnel to understand the increasingly complex developments of the contemporary world.

The short film featured graduates of the programme, who spoke about the benefits they acquired over the six months of training.

They also expressed their pride in the directives of His Excellency Dr. Anwar Gargash regarding the necessity of continuing education.

They also expressed their happiness in having completed the programme, highlighting their newly acquired skills and determination to use them to further the country’s development goals.
