Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade and Chair of the 13th WTO Ministerial Conference, said that the WTO member states reaffirmed the core principles of the World Trade Organisation and addressed during the global event some important files for the coming phase to achieve a more inclusive, sustainable and prosperous global trading system that drives global economic growth.
This came in the minister's statements to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) on the sidelines of the closing session of the 13th WTO Ministerial Conference in Abu Dhabi on Friday night, which included an agreement on a roadmap for reforming the WTO and settling disputes,
He added that the accession of the Comoros and Timor-Leste to the WTO is a culmination of the efforts made, pointing out that for the first time in the history of the WTO Ministerial Conference, the agriculture file was addressed, where WTO member states made significant progress in the discussions which will be completed during the regular meetings in Geneva.
