Aletihad (Ajman)
The Ajman Department of Finance has been recognised as one of the ‘Best Work Environments’ by the ‘Great Place to Work’ (GPTW), an American foundation focusing on identifying entities that cultivate positive and healthy work cultures, indicative of quality and excellence, while boosting employee productivity and satisfaction.
This achievement distinguishes the Department as the first financial entity globally to receive this title based on the classification criteria set by the awarding body.
This distinction stemmed from the findings of GPTW’s Trust Index Survey, which examined employee perceptions of the work environment at the Department of Finance, a statement said.
The evaluation employed a comprehensive set of criteria and standards, complemented by an analytical review of the DoF’s culture and efforts to foster institutional culture through various exemplary standards and practices, encompassing leadership, strategy and innovation, human resources, and operational harmony.
Commenting on this achievement, His Excellency Marwan Al Ali, Director of the DoF, said: “At the Department, we firmly believe that the quality of the work environment constitutes the cornerstone of promoting career growth and encouraging employees to achieve their goals in a way that ensures the investment of their capabilities, raises the quality of productivity, and sustains development.
"As such, we are committed to establishing a flexible and reliable work environment based on our corporate values of positivity, transparency, integrity, empowerment, team spirit, innovation, and efficiency towards fostering confidence and a sense of security among our staff, thereby enriching their quality of life and contributing to their overall happiness.”
He conveyed the DoF’s pride in achieving this classification and emphasised their ongoing efforts to reinforce this culture, saying: “We take great pride in this accomplishment, which mirrors our Department’s commitment to supporting human resources management through the adoption of best practices and internal work policies that continually motivate our team.”
Methodology
The questionnaire covered a range of topics, such as the Department’s practices and capabilities in fostering happiness and innovation. It also delved into how employees are engaged and consulted in enhancing creativity and innovation, as well as the DoF’s expertise in human resources, and included questions about methods used to boost employee effectiveness and productivity, and the implementation of the job empowerment system.
The classification and recognition process is conducted via a standardised comparison on a large and global scale among all entities registered with the GPTW. The ranking of an entity is determined based on its performance results, which are leveraged against data registered worldwide in the Job Confidence and Happiness Index.
