Dubai International Airport (DXB) soars to unparalleled heights, claiming its position as the world’s busiest airport, with an impressive 4,730,161 seats, according to the leading aviation analytics platform OAG.
Surging to the forefront in January, DXB has not only surpassed its global counterparts but has also outshone its own 2019 ranking of third place. DXB outpaced its closest rival, Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (4,484,465 seats), despite Atlanta’s 1% increase in seat capacity compared to the previous month.
Also, on the list of Top 10 Busiest Global Airports, which is calculated using total airline capacity (domestic and international flights), are Tokyo International, Guangzhou, Shanghai Pudong International Airport, London Heathrow Airport, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, Denver International Airport, Beijing Capital International Airport, and Istanbul Airport in that order.
When it comes to the world’s busiest international airports, DXB continues to showcase its dominance, claiming the top spot with international frequency as the key metric.
London Heathrow Airport, Seoul Incheon International Airport, Singapore Changi Airport, Amsterdam Airport, Istanbul Airport, Hong Kong International Airport, Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, Doha Airport, and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport follow in the illustrious lineup.
