ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)
Pretium, a US investment firm focused on residential real estate equity and credit, has opened an office in Abu Dhabi to engage more directly with institutional investors across the Middle East, according to a statement issued by the company.
The office will operate within ADGM, the capital’s international financial centre, and will give Pretium closer access to institutional partners in the region, the statement said.
Founded in 2012, Pretium has approximately $70 billion in assets under management. The company began as a US residential real estate investment business and has since developed an investment platform spanning real estate equity and credit.
The Abu Dhabi office is expected to strengthen Pretium’s relationships with regional clients as the company develops new investment solutions.
“Abu Dhabi is home to some of the world’s most sophisticated and forward-looking institutional investors,” said Don Mullen, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Pretium.
“An on-the-ground presence here will enable us to spend more time alongside our partners in the region and help expand their investment opportunities through Pretium’s vertically integrated residential real estate ecosystem,” he added.
The office will be led by Basim Habib, Director of Business Development, and Dietrich Heidtmann, Managing Director of Business Development. They will work closely with Pretium’s teams across the company.
Arvind Ramamurthy, Chief Market Development Officer at ADGM, said Pretium’s decision to establish a presence in Abu Dhabi reflected the continued growth and international appeal of the capital’s financial ecosystem.
“As leading investment firms expand closer to regional institutional partners, ADGM provides a trusted, internationally recognised platform from which they can build meaningful relationships, unlock new opportunities and contribute to Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading global financial centre,” he said.
Pretium said it had built an integrated analytical and operational platform within the US housing and credit markets. The company employs about 7,000 people across more than 45 offices, including locations in New York, Miami, London, Abu Dhabi, Bangalore, Seoul, and Sydney.
