ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

Abu Dhabi-based Presight and Scale AI have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore the development of agentic artificial intelligence applications for government and corporate customers in the UAE, according to a joint statement.

The proposed collaboration will focus on the evaluation, reliability and governance of AI used in complex and mission-critical environments, as well as emergency response and scenario simulation.

The agreement was signed during the AI Everything event in Abu Dhabi by Dr Adel Alsharji, Chief Operating Officer of Presight, and Jules de Boinville, Head of Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Scale AI.

Under the agreement, the companies will explore opportunities to jointly design, build and refine AI solutions for government and corporate customers in the UAE and other mutually agreed markets.

Successful applications could subsequently be developed into repeatable offerings for government entities in the UAE and across the region, the statement said.

Presight and Scale AI plan to combine the development of AI agents with evaluation frameworks that continuously assess their accuracy, reliability and performance after they are introduced into operational environments.

They will also examine the use of simulation to model complex operational and emergency situations, test decision-making processes before systems are deployed in real-world settings and improve preparedness across critical infrastructure.

The evaluation frameworks would define the tasks that each AI agent must perform, identify errors that would be unacceptable and determine where human authority must be retained. They would then assess whether the system continued to meet those requirements after deployment.

“The next phase of AI adoption will be defined by how reliably AI systems perform when deployed in critical real-world environments,” de Boinville said.

“As AI takes on more consequential work, the standard of proof goes up. Presight has built deep expertise in operationalising AI at scale across the UAE and internationally,” he added.

De Boinville said the companies would combine Presight’s experience with Scale AI’s capabilities in developing AI agents, evaluation, simulation and governance to build applications that UAE customers could use for critical operations and decisions.

Presight will bring its local market knowledge, industry expertise and national AI platforms to the collaboration. Scale AI will contribute its capabilities in AI-agent and application development, evaluation, simulation, governance and expert data, as well as access to its international ecosystem.

“AI’s true value will be measured not by what models can do in isolation, but by the outcomes they enable when embedded into the real-world systems that underpin modern nations,” Alsharji said.

He said Presight was focused on embedding intelligence into critical infrastructure in a way that strengthened human decision-making, preserved operational control and delivered measurable outcomes at scale.

The areas are intended to support the use of AI in critical government and infrastructure environments where sovereignty, security, governance and human oversight are required, the statement said.
