The UAE’s crude oil exports in August returned almost to their pre-war levels of January and February 2026, according to TankerTrackers, a maritime intelligence company that monitors global oil shipments.
The UAE was able to maintain its crude flows by shipping substantial volumes through its eastern coast, helping it outperform other major Gulf exporters affected by the regional conflict.
TankerTrackers data showed that UAE crude exports from both coasts in August were just 0.02% below the January-February 2026 average, which the company used as the immediate pre-war baseline.
The performance contrasted sharply with other major oil exporters in the region. Iran’s crude exports were down 100% from pre-war levels, while Iraq’s shipments from Basrah and through Baniyas in Syria were 36% lower.
Kuwait’s crude exports were also 36% below the pre-war baseline, while Qatar recorded a 48% decline. Saudi Arabia’s exports from its two coasts were likewise down 48%, according to TankerTrackers.
TankerTrackers.com describes itself as a maritime intelligence company specialising in tracking crude oil shipments, including so-called dark-fleet tankers.
It uses satellite imagery, shoreside photography and real-time Automatic Identification System (AIS) vessel data to monitor shipments and compile maritime export reports.
