ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

Abu Dhabi Aviation reported a net profit of Dh420.6 million for the first half of 2026, an increase of 6.6% year-on-year, as revenue rose 28.2% to Dh4.66 billion.

Gross profit increased 11.4% to Dh725.9 million, while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation rose 7.8% to Dh488.4 million. The EBITDA margin stood at 10.5%, while the net profit margin was 9%, a statement from the company said.

Profit attributable to the company’s owners amounted to Dh318 million, with earnings per share unchanged at Dh0.29.

The maintenance, repair and overhaul segment was the main source of growth, with revenue increasing 30.6% and accounting for 89.6% of group revenue. The company attributed the performance to continued demand for fleet-support services at GAL and increased activity at AMMROC.

General Aviation revenue rose 7.6% to Dh509.9 million, supported by stronger cargo operations at Maximus Air.

The results included a non-recurring settlement recognised by AMMROC relating to a legacy contract. The settlement contributed Dh364 million to revenue, Dh112 million to EBITDA and Dh102 million to net profit.

Commenting on the effect of regional developments, the company said: “The result was achieved against a regional operating environment that stayed unsettled through much of the period, which weighed on parts of the Group’s civil and rotary-wing activity.”

“A diversified platform allowed stronger areas, particularly defence MRO and air cargo, to more than offset that softness, while the Group maintained a conservative balance sheet and a net cash position throughout,” it added.

Cash and cash equivalents stood at Dh2.046 billion at the end of June, while total borrowings amounted to Dh1.146 billion, giving the group a net cash position of Dh900 million.

Following the reporting period, the board approved the divestment of a substantial portion of the group’s non-core real estate and equity investments. The holdings, which had a combined carrying value of Dh674 million, were classified as held for sale as of June 30.

The company said the divestment would allow it to concentrate capital on its core aviation and MRO operations.

“Abu Dhabi Aviation delivered a strong first half, with substantial revenue growth led by continued demand for our maintenance and defence-related services,” Mahmood Alhay Alhameli, Group Chief Executive Officer, said.

Shareholders approved a cash dividend of Dh329 million, equivalent to Dh0.30 per share, for 2025 at the company’s Annual General Assembly in March. The payment represented a dividend yield of approximately 5.75%, based on the closing share price at the end of 2025.
