ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

AD Ports Group has launched an AI-powered business intelligence headquarters, IHQ, as part of a Group-wide platform to embed AI across 20 global workstreams.

The company said in a statement the platform will employ thousands of digital workers and will support the Group’s digital transformation by using AI-enabled intelligence across major functions.

The launch is aligned with the UAE’s National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence, which aims to position the country as a global AI leader by 2031, the company said.

IHQ was launched in the presence of Dr Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity Council for the UAE Government, at AD Ports Group’s Digital District in Zayed Port.

The company said the new platform will accelerate its digital transformation through an approach focused on security, transparency, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence.

For customers and partners, IHQ is expected to progressively improve the speed, efficiency, and customer-centric nature of the Group’s services across its ports, economic cities and free zones, maritime and shipping, logistics, and digital clusters, the company said.

Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO of AD Ports Group, said the Group’s investment in a strong digital foundation has supported its growth from an Abu Dhabi-focused ports operator into a global trade enabler.

“With IHQ, we are building on this foundation to create an enterprise that continuously assists our ability to think, learn, and evolve as a global business,” Al Shamisi said.

“Under the wise guidance of our leadership in the UAE, IHQ will leverage AI as a force multiplier for our people, in support of the 2031 National Strategy for AI,” he added.

Mohamed Jamal-Eddine, Group Chief Digital and Information Officer of AD Ports Group, said the company will continue to invest in new technologies to strengthen the UAE’s position as an intelligent trade hub.

"IHQ will make AI operational at enterprise scale. Every workstream selected for AI-powered transformation sits at a critical juncture, where artificial intelligence can measurably improve speed, accuracy, and decision quality,” Jamal-Eddine said.

AD Ports Group said IHQ will focus on integrating AI capabilities deep into enterprise workstreams to improve efficiency, decision-making, and customer service through a continuous improvement process.

At launch, IHQ featured workflow demonstrations across areas including port and berth optimisation, vessel arrival orchestration, software development, and talent acquisition.

Over the coming months, the platform will support the systematic augmentation of AI across the Group’s 20 workstreams, multiplying operational capacity, the company said.

AD Ports Group said it has invested in digital innovation for two decades. In 2025, the Group was awarded a global Guinness World Record for deploying the most AI agents in a single logistics facility.

During the same year, the company published a blueprint titled “Building Human-AI Teams: AD Ports Group's Blueprint for Tomorrow's Workforce”, outlining how AI-powered agents are transforming its operations.
