Emirates Driving Company, listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) under the ticker symbol (DRIVE), launched its new corporate identity, marking its transformation from Emirates Driving Company into a broader mobility-focused platform aimed at shaping the future of smart and sustainable transportation in the UAE.

The announcement was made during a bell-ringing ceremony at the exchange, where the company also introduced its new trading symbol “EMobility,” replacing the former “DRIVE,” in a move reflecting the company’s expansion beyond traditional driver training services into an integrated mobility ecosystem.

Speaking to Aletihad on the occasion, Khalid Al Shemeili, Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Mobility Company, said the transformation represents a strategic shift designed to position the company among the leading players in one of the UAE’s fastest-growing sectors.

“We announced today a strategic transformation from Emirates Driving Company to Emirates Mobility so the company can play a key role in establishing an integrated ecosystem within the transportation and mobility sector,” Al Shemeili said. “This is a vital sector witnessing rapid growth across the UAE.”

He explained that Emirates Mobility now oversees a portfolio of companies operating across multiple transportation services, including public transport, limousine services, taxi operations, delivery services, insurance solutions, vehicle rental businesses, and smart mobility technologies.

According to Al Shemeili, the company’s umbrella includes subsidiaries under Excellence Premier Investment, covering driving services, limousine operations, courier services, and vehicle maintenance, in addition to holdings linked to public transportation and taxi services.

The CEO noted that technology will play a central role in the company’s future direction, highlighting investments in smart mobility and digital transportation solutions through specialised technology companies focused on transport support systems and intelligent mobility infrastructure.

Al Shemeili said the transformation would strengthen the company’s investment capabilities and support future expansion through strategic acquisitions and partnerships.

"This transition enhances our investment capabilities and expands our portfolio through strategic and quality acquisitions that we are continuing to pursue,” he said. “It strengthens our readiness to become leaders in this sector within the UAE.”

Sustainability also remains a major pillar of the company’s long-term strategy. Al Shemeili emphasised that Emirates Mobility is investing in environmentally friendly transportation solutions, including electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, and alternative energy technologies aligned with the UAE’s net-zero ambitions.

“One of the essential priorities within the company’s strategy is ESG and supporting sustainability,” he said. “This includes electric vehicles, EV charging batteries, and supporting technologies that help reduce carbon emissions as we work toward achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.”
