Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport has launched "AirPass," a single-use voucher that allows shoppers to access retail boutiques and a range of dining outlets without holding a boarding pass.

Under the scheme, which is currently only open to UAE nationals and residents, visitors must first obtain a valid airport visitor access pass by registering through the airport's website.

Once approval is granted, they will receive a digital pass containing a unique QR code, which must be presented and scanned at designated control points, including airport entry, retail outlets and exit points.

According to the official announcement, the pass includes complimentary parking for shoppers who spend at least Dh200 during their access period. Failure to meet the minimum spend requirement will result in standard parking charges being applied.

Visitors are required to adhere to all rules, protocols and instructions provided by airport authorities at all times. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Airside areas remains strictly restricted, the announcement added, noting that carrying or using personal electronic devices such as laptops and tablets is also not permitted during the visit.

Access to the airport is subject to pre booked time slots. The voucher is valid for single use only and is strictly non-transferable - it cannot be exchanged, refunded, or redeemed for cash or any other service.

If a visitor wishes to change their allocated slot, they may do so only on the day of the booking and must communicate the request in advance by contacting the designated phone number (+97128055555).

Before leaving the airport shopping zone, all passes must be returned at the designated drop-off areas listed in the confirmation email.

Visitors who lose their access pass must immediately notify the airport security team.

The campaign will run for eight weeks, with more details available on the airport's website.
