Dubai Police and Dubai Civil Defense Sign MoU in the Field of Drones

DUBAI (ALETIHAD)

Dubai Police has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the General Command of Dubai Civil Defence (DCD) to bolster cooperation and coordination in drone technology.

This agreement includes linking the Civil Defence reporting system with the operational system at the Dubai Police Drone Systems Centre, coordinating the development of scenarios for reconstructing fire incident investigations, and facilitating the exchange of expertise between both parties.

The memorandum was signed by His Excellency Lieutenant General Harib Mohammed Al Shamsi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Affairs, and His Excellency Major General Jamal bin Aded Al Muhairi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Civil Defence.

The signing ceremony was attended by Lieutenant General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Assistant Commandant for Operations Affairs; Brigadier Turki bin Faris, Director of the General Department of Operations; and Major Mohammed Omar, Director of the Drone Systems Centre.

Also present from the Civil Defence side were Lieutenant Colonel Dr Issa Ahmed Al Mutawa, Assistant Commandant for the Smart Services Sector and Chief Executive of Artificial Intelligence, and First Lieutenant Imran Abdulrahman Ahli, Head of the Strategic Partnerships Section.

Lt. Gen. Harib Al Shamsi emphasised that the signing of the MoU with the General Command of Dubai Civil Defence is a vital step in strengthening strategic partnerships with various government entities.


“This initiative aligns with the directives of our wise leadership to establish a comprehensive security system that adapts to developments across diverse fields, particularly in joint operational areas such as responding to fire-related incidents using best practices,” he added.

Al Shamsi further stated, "At Dubai Police, we believe that community safety cannot be achieved without institutional integration. Therefore, enhancing collaboration with various government departments, including Dubai Civil Defence, is a top priority for us. This partnership will enable us to achieve our strategic goals of enhancing security and safety while promoting the well-being of our community members."

Meanwhile, Lt. Gen. Jamal Al Muhairi highlighted that the agreement was signed within the framework of enhancing collaboration and integrating efforts in technological advancement, particularly in the use of drones for security and field operations.

“This initiative embodies the directives of our wise leadership to leverage the latest smart technologies in support of the security and safety framework, while also developing efficient mechanisms for rapid response and incident management. Ultimately, this will help protect lives and property, reinforcing Dubai's position as a pioneer in security innovation and future readiness,” he continued.
