ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

Applications are now open for the fifth edition of the Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award, Aster DM Healthcare announced.

The award, which recognises outstanding contributions by nurses worldwide, carries a prize of $250,000 for the winner.

Applications are open to registered nurses across the world who have made contributions in patient care, nursing leadership, education, social or community service, or research and innovation in healthcare.

Applicants can choose one primary and up to two secondary areas of contribution. Submissions can be made via www.asterguardians.com in multiple languages until November 10, 2025.

The selection process will be independently managed by Ernst & Young LLP and overseen by a Grand Jury of international healthcare leaders.

Following assessments, the top ten finalists will be announced ahead of a global awards ceremony in May 2026, coinciding with International Nurses Day.

Since its inception, the award has received thousands of applications from more than 200 countries.

The most recent edition in 2025 drew over 100,000 registrations from 199 countries, reflecting growing interest among the global nursing community.

The Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award was born out of gratitude – to honour those who form the backbone of care and to inspire the next generation to join this noble profession.”

Managing Director and Group CEO of Aster DM Healthcare, Alisha Moopen, added, “Every year, we see inspiring stories of nurses transforming communities and leading innovation. As we mark the fifth edition, our commitment remains strong – to amplify their voices and elevate their impact.”

Previous winners include nurses from Kenya, the UK, the Philippines, and Ghana.
