ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)
Meta has introduced a new feature on Instagram that allows creators to link multiple Reels together into a series.
This feature was added in response to the growing trend of creating multi-part content and makes it easier for viewers to follow a series without having to scroll through a creator's entire feed.
The new linking feature allows creators to connect one Reel to another based on context, topic, or theme.
This can be done for both new Reels and ones that have already been posted. However, you can't link Reels that are shared with "Close Friends" or are for subscribers only.
How to link a Reel
Linking a new Reel:
- Look for the option to link a Reel below the caption box.
- Tap on it and select the Reel you want to link. You can only select one at a time.
- Add a title for your linked Reel. This title will only be visible on the Reel it's linked to. The title must be more than 15 characters long. If you don't add a title, it will default to "Linked reel." You can change or remove the title at any time.
- Once done, tap OK, then Share.
Linking an already-posted Reel:
- Tap the three dots on the right side of the Reel.
- If the Reel doesn't have a linked Reel yet, tap Add linked reel.
- If it already has one, tap Edit linked reel.
How to edit a linked Reel
After selecting your linked Reel, a screen will appear that says "Edit linked reel."
- To choose a different Reel to link, tap Change reel below.
- To unlink a Reel, tap Unlink and confirm again.
Reels that have been unlinked are no longer visible on the reel to which they were initially linked.
