ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

The Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) has announced that the UAE ranked 1st globally in the Fibre to the Home (FTTH) ranking 2025 with a rate of 99.5%. 

Commented on the occasion of the UAE ranking first globally in fibre optic network, Talal Belhoul Al Falasi, Chairman of TDRA’s Board of Directors, said: "The UAE has maintained its world's first place in FTTH for the ninth consecutive year, confirming our wise leadership vision to establish and advance digital infrastructure that enhances the quality of life and enables everyone access to cutting-edge services. 

He added, "We commend the efforts of service providers, who have contributed to achieving this milestone.

Al Falasi noted: "Our ongoing investment in the telecom sector establishes the UAE as a global innovation hub."

Eng. Majed Sultan Al Mesmar, Director General of TDRA, said: "We are proud of the UAE for continuing its standing as Global Leader in FTTH network access by 99.5%." 

He added, "This milestone is a testament to our commitment to promoting the digital infrastructure and offering the fastest and best connectivity services, all in line with the country's vision toward digital transformation and technological leadership."

"We thank the service providers who have contributed to this success by their continued efforts in telecom sector development," noted ⁣Eng. Al Mesmar.    

Commenting on the success, Eng. Mohammed Yousef Al-Ramsi, Deputy Director General, Telecommunications sector, TDRA, said: "We commend the role of service providers in achieving this milestone, where they were the cornerstone for sustaining the UAE's position as a world leader in FTTH network penetration for the ninth year in a row". 

He added: "We will continue to work with them to ensure a more evolved and innovative future."
