Crypto app downloads in the UAE reached 15 million in 2024, recording a 41% increase compared to the year before, according to data from the app analytics platform AppsFlyer.
The significant growth, particularly in the second half of 2024, reflects the increasing adoption of cryptocurrency apps in the region.
In 2023, the total downloads of the top 49 crypto apps in the UAE stood at 6.2 million, surging to 15 million by 2024.
This sharp rise is attributed to several factors, including market trends and an overall favourable environment for cryptocurrency adoption in the UAE.
In the last quarter of 2024, crypto app downloads exceeded 1 million per month, with December alone seeing 2.8 million downloads. This marked the highest monthly number for the year, reflecting not only growing interest in cryptocurrencies but also the increasing integration of crypto apps into daily life.
Despite this substantial growth, the market is not without its challenges, particularly when it comes to user retention.
Data from AppsFlyer shows that 20% of apps are uninstalled within 30 days of being downloaded, putting pressure on crypto app companies to continue improving user experiences and providing valuable, engaging content.
Nevertheless, projections for 2025 suggest that this trend will continue to grow, offering substantial opportunities for companies to expand their user base.
