Abu Dhabi Exports Office's (ADEX) participation in the 2024 Abu Dhabi International Food Exhibition (ADIFE) aligns with the UAE leadership's vision to strengthen the country's food security and global competitiveness, said its Director General Khalil Al Mansoori.
"As a strategic sponsor of the event, we aim to promote our innovative financial solutions and foster partnerships with key stakeholders in agriculture and food security," Al Mansoori told Aletihad.
He said that ADEX is seeking to reinforce the UAE's position as a global food security leader, build connections with international buyers, and showcase the critical role ADEX plays in supporting local exporters and enhancing their global reach.
Regarding the measurable impact ADEX has made in supporting UAE food exports and future plans to build on these successes, Al Mansoori said: "Since its establishment in 2019, ADEX has facilitated financing exceeding Dh3 billion to support UAE exports, including food products, ensuring their penetration into global markets."
Al Mansoori highlighted that ADEX aims to strengthen the UAE's food export ecosystem, promote innovation, and address challenges through strategic partnerships with international buyers and industry leaders.
It is collaborating with local food enterprises, diversifying supply chains, and focusing on high-growth markets, aligning with national sustainability goals and providing innovative financing models, he added.
On the expected expansion of UAE food exports, Al Mansoori noted: "The UAE's food export sector is projected to significantly contribute to the national economy, adding $10 billion to GDP and creating 20,000 jobs in the coming years. ADEX plays a pivotal role in these projections by offering comprehensive export credit facilities and guarantees that enable UAE exporters to scale their operations and access new markets."
"By collaborating with innovators and tech-driven enterprises, ADEX intends to promote cutting-edge agricultural practices and food processing technologies. These advancements will enhance the quality and sustainability of UAE food exports, making them more competitive in the global market."
According to Al Mansoori, ADEX's past participation in ADIFE has shaped its current strategies, with a focus on strategic alliances, sustainable solutions, targeted partnerships, industry innovation, and comprehensive support for local exporters.
"UAE food enterprises are poised to become key players in the global food supply chain, driving innovation, sustainability, and resilience. ADEX will continue supporting their evolution by providing financial backing and facilitating their integration into global markets, ensuring they play a vital role in addressing global food security challenges."
