SAMI ABDUL RAOUF (DUBAI)

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) on Saturday organised a campaign to promote and raise awareness about the second edition of the Emirates Labour Market Award.

The campaign award was promoted at the Mall of the Emirates and City Centre Deira in Dubai, City Centre Al Zahia in Sharjah, City Centre Ajman, and City Centre Fujairah.

The award, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, draws inspiration from the wise leadership’s vision to strengthen the advanced developmental system that the UAE possesses, creating an integrated and stimulating investment environment.

The ministry’s team received many visitors at these shopping centres, who learned about the award that honours exceptional and outstanding practices and achievements by the workforce and private companies, showcasing best practices in the labour market.

Nomination applications can be submitted at https://riyada.mohre.gov.ae/en/account/registration.aspx until August 31, 2024.

The final ceremony is scheduled for November.

The award enhances knowledge, showcases best practices, and elevates business standards. It honours 90 winners, up from 66 in the first edition.

The ministry urges participation to improve work conditions, spread excellence, and boost productivity.

It also urged companies to motivate their employees to take part in the award.

The ministry’s team explained that participants can register in one of the five categories.

The Companies category will be awarded to companies that apply best human resources practices based on employment, empowerment, talent attraction, work environment, quality of workforce life, innovation, future readiness, and commitment to labour systems and standards across various economic sectors.

The Outstanding Workforce category has three sub-categories: Skilled Labour, Other Professional Levels, and Supporting Labour.

The Labour Accommodation category will be awarded for the best investment in labour accommodations that apply the best standards in housing facilities, additional services provided to resident workers, and the adoption and implementation of sustainability and workforce welfare initiatives.

The Business Services Partners category will be awarded to companies that have contributed to developing leading labour market practices.

This category includes three sub-categories: Domestic Worker Recruitment Offices, Employment Agencies, and Business Service Centres.

The Special Recognition category includes four sub-categories: Elite Companies, Person of the Year, Pioneering Initiative, and Social Influencer.
