ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

As part of its global research tour focusing on the African continent, TRENDS Research and Advisory continues to enhance its research relationships with major research institutions in South Africa.

TRENDS researchers held a dialogue session with their counterparts at Stellenbosch University's Security Institute for Governance and Leadership in Africa (SIGLA) in Cape Town.

During the session, they explored avenues for research collaboration and strategic partnership to enhance shared research interests and exchange expertise in governance and leadership studies, as well as other research fields.

The session also saw the launch and discussion of the TRENDS-developed Muslim Brotherhood International Power Index (MBIPI), presented in multiple languages.

SIGLA officials praised the scientific methodology of the MBIPI, which combines qualitative and quantitative analysis.

This dialogue session opened new horizons for research collaboration between TRENDS and SIGLA, one of South Africa's leading think tanks.

The collaboration aims to deepen the understanding of African issues and develop innovative solutions to common challenges.

The session also provided an opportunity for the exchange of experiences and knowledge among researchers from different institutions, enriching research work and contributing to the development of new research areas.

CEO of TRENDS, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, commented emphasising the importance of scientific research in understanding the challenges facing the African continent and developing effective solutions.

He expressed his and his research team's pleasure in meeting their counterparts at SIGLA, noting that this meeting offered an opportunity to discuss key issues facing Africa and to consult with experts on ways to enhance research collaboration between TRENDS and SIGLA.

Speaking on behalf of SIGLA, Dr. Michelle Nel praised TRENDS' research efforts and the methodology of the MBIPI.

She emphasised the importance of collaboration between research institutions in the field of governance and leadership in Africa and welcomed the opening of TRENDS' office in Cape Town, expressing her eagerness to work together to achieve common goals.
