The Fallen Heroes’ Affairs Office has organised the seventh Social Forum for Mothers of Fallen Heroes’ Children at Etihad Museum in Dubai.
The forum was held under the theme An Aware Mother… The Foundation of a Balanced Family. It aimed to support fallen heroes’ families and promote both their family and social wellbeing.
The forum was held as part of the UAE Year of the Family, supporting the aspirations of strengthening family unity and highlighting the family’s role in building a strong and connected society.
Organised in cooperation with the National Academy for Childhood Development and SAKINA, a leading mental health network under SEHA, a subsidiary of PureHealth, the forum featured specialised sessions focused on family, psychological, and social wellbeing.
The forum also followed the office’s celebration of Emirati Women’s Day under the theme We Emerge Stronger and Better. It recognised the important role of Emirati women in building strong families and communities, and highlighted mothers of fallen heroes’ children as national role models of dedication, strength, and sacrifice.
The programme included several social and educational topics. These covered how to deal with changes and unexpected situations that families may face. The sessions also focused on emotional and social intelligence, psychological wellbeing, and building healthy and stable family relationships.
Other topics included managing stress and anxiety about the future, and balancing family responsibilities with personal and psychological needs, helping mothers adapt to various changes and challenges while supporting their vital role in maintaining family stability and cohesion.
His Excellency Abdullah Ghurair Al Qubaisi, Director of the Fallen Heroes’ Affairs Office, said that supporting fallen heroes’ families is a national priority that reflects the UAE’s values of loyalty and appreciation for their sacrifices. His Excellency added that the forum supports the goals of the UAE Year of the Family and highlights mothers of fallen heroes’ children as inspiring examples of Emirati women, reflecting the Emirati Women’s Day theme, We Emerge Stronger and Better.
The programme also included a tour of Etihad Museum. During the tour, the mothers of fallen heroes’ children learned about important stages in the founding of the UAE, the journey of the Union, and the national values that shaped the country.
