Tourists exploring Abu Dhabi’s iconic sites and cultural landmarks experienced the warmth of Emirati hospitality as the Abu Dhabi Police carried out a field initiative across key destinations ahead of Eid Al Adha.

Officers from the Tourism Police Department handed out gifts, including flowers, and extended Eid greetings to tourists and site visitors.

The gesture is part of a wider initiative aimed at enhancing security and raising awareness of police services during the holiday period, according to an advisory published in Arabic on X on Tuesday.

Families and visitors were seen holding roses as they posed for photos with officers, in images shared by Abu Dhabi Police.

Under the initiative, the Tourism Police also offered tips and guidance to ensure a safe, smooth and pleasant experience while exploring Abu Dhabi.

These included advice on how to contact the authorities in case assistance is needed, as well as step-by-step instructions for handling emergencies. Such guides are also displayed on electronic screens at tourist sites, the police added.

It is a move that embodies “authentic Emirati values and the spirit of tolerance that characterises UAE society”, the authority said.

The programme aligns with Abu Dhabi Police’s goal of strengthening communication with the public, while also enhancing community happiness and quality of life.
