Emirates on Thursday launched the world’s first electrically powered premium economy seats. With full-height screens, ample personal space and comfort, it's closest you'll get to business class.

The seats have been initially fitted on the Dubai carrier's Airbus A350 aircraft, and the airline says the innovative design promotes extra comfort.

The premium economy cabin comes in a more spacious 2-3-2 layout with just 28 seats that can also recline in a cradle position without causing discomfort to passengers behind.

Emirates premium economy seats are a comfortable 20” wide, with a seat pitch of up to 39” on the A350.

Premium economy seats also come with Emirates' recently introduced U-Dream headrest by Safran Seats. The redesigned headrest is crafted in leather and offers plenty of neck and head support.

There’s also a leather leg-rest that can be manually deployed to reduce feet fatigue.

An integrated passenger control unit completes the luxury experience for travellers, with dedicated settings like "lounge mode" and "meal mode", Emirates said.
