ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)
The fourth edition of the Abu Dhabi Government Games Championship, organised by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC), concluded successfully, reinforcing employee wellbeing, promoting sports as a lifestyle, and strengthening social connections among government employees in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Held at Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba, the championship brought together over 2,000 employees from 48 government entities, in a highly competitive and energetic atmosphere that reflected strong team spirit and contributed to enhancing participants' physical and mental wellbeing.
The winners were crowned during an official ceremony attended by senior officials and representatives of participating entities.
The competitions covered 11 sports, including table tennis, running, cycling, badminton, chess, shooting, fitness, 3x3 basketball, beach volleyball, padel, and football for both men and women.
In key results, Yara Al Damisi (ADVETI) won gold in the women's table tennis, while Humaid Al Suwaidi (Department of Government Enablement) secured gold in men's category.
Lubna Al Helwani (AD Police) dominated the women's running and cycling, while Abdulali Bouazzaoui (AD Civil Defence) and Saif Mayouf (AD Police) claimed top positions in men's races.
AD Police also excelled in team events, winning shooting and fitness titles, while various government entities secured top positions across other disciplines.
AD Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) received the award for the most participating entity, while AD Police GHQ claimed the prestigious "Sports Excellence Trophy" for the highest number of wins.
Aref Al Awani, Secretary General at ADSC, praised the success of the championship, highlighting its role in promoting a healthy lifestyle, strengthening workplace relationships, and enhancing positive work environments.
He also extended his appreciation to sponsors, partners, Sheikh Zayed Festival, and all volunteers and organising teams for their significant contribution to the event's success.
