Unstable weather conditions forecast for coming days

AMEINAH ALZEYOUDI (ABU DHABI)

The UAE is expected to witness unstable weather conditions in the coming days due to a surface low-pressure system from the southeast, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The low-pressure system extending from the southeast will interact with an upper-air low-pressure system, accompanied by a cold air mass and strong upper-air winds from the west. This combination is likely to lead to the development of clouds in various parts of the country, with the potential for convective activity at times, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported citing an NCM bulletin.

On Tuesday, the weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times over some northern and coastal areas with a chance of rainfall.
Winds will be light to moderate shifting  to northwesterly and northeasterly, freshening at times, reaching speeds of up to 35km/h. The sea state will be moderate to slight in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea. It is also forecast that Tuesday night will be humid.

For Wednesday, partly cloudy to cloudy weather is expected in some eastern, northern and coastal areas with a chance of rainfall. Winds will be light to moderate, shifting from southwesterly to northwesterly, gaining speeds of up to 40km/h. The sea state will be slight to moderate, with a chance of becoming  rough with clouds in the Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea.

Thursday will see partly cloudy to cloudy weather at times over some eastern, northern, coastal areas and islands with a chance of  rainfall. Light to moderate southwesterly to northwesterly winds are forecast, freshening at times over the sea, reaching speeds of 40km/h. The sea state will be slight to moderate, might be rough with clouds in the Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea.

Friday is expected to have fair to partly cloudy skies, and cloudy at times. Winds will be light to moderate, northwesterly to northeasterly, freshening at times, reaching 35km/h. The sea state will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.
