Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Government Relations (DGR) in Sharjah, explored cooperation opportunities in the economic, commercial, investment, and cultural sectors with Sybille Pfaff, Consul-General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Dubai, and Miriam Müller, from the culture and economic affairs, during an official visit at the House of Wisdom.
The two parties also explored future collaboration in light of regional and international developments, emphasising the importance of exchanging expertise and knowledge between institutions and development entities in Sharjah and their counterparts in Germany.
As part of the visit, Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi accompanied the German delegation on a tour of Sharjah International Airport, where they were welcomed by Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority; Sheikh Faisal Al Qasimi, Director of Sharjah Airport Authority and Sharjah Airport Authority team.
Discussions focused on cooperation opportunities in the civil aviation sector. Airport officials highlighted ambitious development plans, including future strategies for Air Arabia, airport expansion, and increasing passenger capacity to 5 million, with the first phase expected to commence in 2025. The meeting also addressed enhancing collaboration in training national cadres and exchanging expertise in airport management.
