RABI HAMAMSAH (ABU DHABI)
Dubai’s beaches ranked second in the world, among the best beach destinations suitable for family tourism, according to a report by travel insurance comparison site InsureMyTrip.
The emirate of Dubai achieved an overall score of 7.58 out of 10 behind Guanacaste in Costa Rica, which ranked first with an overall score of 7.65. Dubai received high scores in several categories in the report’s classification, including safety, 10 out of 10, average beach, rating 9.31 out of 10, and sea temperature which stood at 29.2°C.
The report’s classification covers average beach rating, average sea temperature, average cost of a hotel for two adults and two children, number of attractions, cost of water activities, ocean cleanliness, and safety.
This achievement comes as development continues in Dubai’s beaches, with the announcement of more night swimming beach areas, beach cycling paths, and beaches designated for women only.
Dubai has become a well-known family destination as it has been deemed one of the safest cities in the world and offers a variety of family friendly attractions such as theme parks, aquariums, and water parks, according to the InsureMyTrip report in 2022.
The 2024 report showed that Dubai ranked second due to the cost of hotels and activities in comparison with other cities.
The average room costs $298.81 for a family of four while water activities cost an average of $150.86. Recently, many websites specialised in travel and holidays have recommended a number of Dubai’s beaches for families and tourists to visit.
