In preparation for Eid Al Fitr, the Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) Municipality has launched a campaign to ensure adherence to public health standards across all local establishments. The initiative, which places a special focus on food-related businesses, aims to enforce strict compliance with health regulations during the high-demand Eid period.

Adel Al Suwaidi, director of the Health Department at the RAK Municipality, told Aletihad that the municipality is committed to upholding public health mandates through its inspection efforts, and enhancing the quality of services provided.

Over the past two months, the department has conducted 547 inspections of bakeries and popular restaurants, which witness significant public turnout, identifying 113 violations and issuing 310 warnings and observations. Al Suwaidi further stated that the health department welcomes public feedback year-round, with a heightened readiness during holidays to respond to any concerns and maintain exceptional service quality and standards for consumers.

Meanwhile, retail outlets in Ras Al Khaimah, particularly confectionery shops, are expecting a surge in customer traffic and sales on the night of Eid, leading to increased retail sales across various markets during this period.

Ali Taher, a local sweetshop employee, noted the seasonal spike in sales, attributing it to the tradition of offering sweets during Eid. Similarly, Mohammed Ahmed, another employee, acknowledged the increased demand for chocolates and sweets, essential for Eid hospitality, prompting shops to prepare assorted hospitality trays and custom orders, to provide the best service.

In a parallel effort, the Ras Al Khaimah Police General Headquarters has devised a security plan for Eid Al Fitr to ensure a safe environment in the Emirate, aiming to safeguard lives and properties. The Ras Al Khaimah Police intensified the deployment of patrols and civil teams to manage traffic and prevent congestion.

The police department urged the public to commit to road safety and adhere to traffic regulations during the Eid period, to preserve their lives and the lives of others on the road.
