Dubai Police participated in the Volunteering Expo organised by the Higher Colleges of Technology (HTC) under the theme "Volunteering: Sustainability of Giving and Happiness."
The event is aimed to promote the values of volunteering among students and highlights the importance of volunteer activities in fostering community cohesion and solidarity.
Represented by the Community Relations Department under the General Department for Community Happiness, Dubai Police participated in the Expo with a lecture on community volunteering and volunteering opportunities delivered by Major Khalid Obaid Al Suwaidi, the Director of Community Relations.
Al Suwaidi pointed out various volunteering opportunities available to the female students of the HTC across multiple fields and departments, emphasising Dubai Police's commitment to enhancing volunteering opportunities and developing the students' skills and practical experiences.
He mentioned that the initiatives announced on their online platform align with Dubai Police's strategic objectives and its longstanding mission to involve the community in enhancing security and safety and promoting social responsibility principles.
"The volunteering platform of Dubai Police offers numerous opportunities and experiences for volunteers to provide humanitarian services in various community fields, along with contributing to raising awareness and the culture of volunteering. The platform also allows users to explore all initiatives, events, and activities and select suitable volunteering opportunities based on their skills and capabilities. It encourages individuals to add to their skills and enhance them with the required certifications, with volunteering opportunities being announced on social media and Dubai Police's official website," he explained.
Dubai Police also engaged in discussion sessions and interactive workshops at the HTC Volunteering Expo, addressing the significance, concept, and values of volunteering, which contribute to spreading happiness among individuals in the community.
