ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) proudly secured a Guinness World Record by hosting the world's largest agriculture lesson at Gracia Farm in Al Bahia.

With a remarkable turnout of over 290 participants, the event brought together a diverse group, including hotel staff, students, organic farming practitioners, and seasoned farmers.

The significance of the achievement was underscored by the presence of Her Excellency Mariam bint Mohammed Saeed Hareb Almheiri, Head of the International Affairs Office at the Presidential Court, who shared an inspiring video message. Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, President of the Abu Dhabi Agricultural Club, added to the grandeur by gracing the occasion.

Saeed Al Dhaheri, Director of Al Ain and Al Dhafra Regional Development Department at DCT Abu Dhabi, inaugurated the event in the esteemed company of Guinness World Record officials. The initiative, designed to break new ground, delved into a spectrum of eco-friendly farming methods. From cutting-edge technology to innovative irrigation systems tailored for Abu Dhabi's climate, the world-record-breaking lesson aimed to revolutionize agricultural practices.

Beyond the record-setting endeavour, DCT Abu Dhabi orchestrated engaging discussions, hands-on workshops, and interactive demonstrations. These activities not only enriched the participants but also empowered them with valuable knowledge on actively contributing to the cultivation of a greener and more sustainable future for the emirate. This remarkable achievement reflects DCT Abu Dhabi's commitment to fostering innovation and environmental stewardship.
