HALA AL KHAYAT (ABU DHABI)
The Abu Dhabi City Municipality, through Al Shahama Municipality Centre, has completed a project to revamp and establish playgrounds as well as sports facilities within its parks as part of its efforts to encourage sports, and provide access to a safe and sustainable entertainment environment for all members of society.
In detail, the project included rehabilitating three playgrounds in Al Bahia, including a football field made of synthetic grass with a total area of 1,650 square metres and dimensions equal to 50x33 metres, a multipurpose playground with acrylic flooring for five-a-side football, basketball, and handball on a total area of 375 square metres and with dimensions equal to 25x15 metres.
The municipality also renovated a volleyball court with acrylic flooring in Al Bahia with a total area of 375 square metres and dimensions equal to 25x15, in addition to installing 10 energy-efficient lighting poles.
In the New Shahama Park, the Abu Dhabi City Municipality completed a multipurpose playground with acrylic flooring for five-a-side football, basketball, and handball, with a total area of 594 square metres and dimensions equal to 33x18 metres, in addition to installing a metal fence around the playground, measuring 84 metres, two gates, and four energy-saving lighting poles.
The project also included establishing a fitness area in the New Shahama Park with a total area of 245 square metres and acrylic flooring, in addition to equipping it with benches and multipurpose fitness equipment that serve the various age categories of those who frequent the park and encourage physical exercise among members of society to maintain their health.
The municipality affirmed its keenness on expanding the landscape for playgrounds within its assets to enable access to entertainment and sports facilities suitable for all age groups and promote a healthy lifestyle among members of the community.
