The organising committee of the Al Yasat Festival has announced that the Al Yasat 60ft Dhow Sailing Race will be held on Saturday as part of the festival’s events. The festival is held by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club.
This year’s race will take place on a 70-kilometre course (37 nautical miles), starting from Dalma Island, passing through Al Yasat Island, and ending in Al Sila area. It is considered one of the most prominent long-distance heritage races in the UAE.
The organising committee confirmed its complete readiness to hold the event according to the highest safety standards, noting that the race embodies the deep connection of Emirati society to its maritime heritage and enhances the presence of traditional sports in the sporting landscape.
