UAE Jiu-Jitsu Team wins 9 medals at 2024 World Jiu-Jitsu Cup - U14 in Greece

The UAE Jiu-Jitsu U-14 National Team, sponsored by Mubadala Investment Company, secured an impressive haul of nine medals at 2024 World Cup - U14, which concluded yesterday in Heraklion, Greece with participation from 27 countries.

Demonstrating the UAE’s dominance in jiu-jitsu on the global stage, the team earned three gold, three silver, and three bronze medals, underscoring the success of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation’s development programmes and commitment to nurturing emerging talent.

Board Member of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, Mohammed bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, said, “The National Team’s performance at the 2024 World Cup – U14 shows the strong foundation we’ve built for the future of jiu-jitsu in the UAE. Our athletes demonstrated top skills, discipline, and resilience, the qualities we aim to foster through our development programmes.”

“This global success reflects the limitless support of our leadership and is a promising sign of the sport’s future. We’re confident this generation of champions will continue to drive the nation’s achievements in the years ahead.”

Khalfan Al Qubaisi, who captured gold in the 52kg category, added, “Winning a medal at the World Cup and raising my country’s flag is beyond words. The competition was intense, and each match brought its challenges. This medal fuels my motivation to keep training hard and push for even greater accomplishments, knowing this is just the beginning.”

Earlier, the UAE National Team (Adults) maintained their dominance at the Jiu-Jitsu World Championship, retaining the title for the fifth consecutive year.

Competing in Heraklion, Greece, from October 24-26, the team brought home a total of nine medals, comprising three gold, three silver, and four bronze.

The UAE also won a gold medal in para jiu-jitsu category.

Additionally, the UAE’s youth Teams competing in the U-16, U-18, and U-21 categories also delivered an outstanding performance at the Jiu-Jitsu World Youth Championship, securing a total of 42 medals: 11 gold, 13 silver, and 18 bronze.

Their success further highlights the UAE’s deep talent pool and the Federation’s unwavering dedication to fostering jiu-jitsu’s future stars.
