The UAE’s equestrian show jumper, Omar Al Marzouqi, added a new feather in the UAE’s endurance cap by winning the World Show Jumping Championship for Stallions as part of the World Championship for five-, six-- and seven-year-old showjumpers in Lanaken in Belgium.

Riding Enjoy de La Mure, owned by Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the 21-year-old UAE rider finished the first and second legs on Thursday and Friday respectively outperforming the world’s top show jumpers.

Having started on September 18, the event will conclude on Sunday by crowning the winners in various categories and ages.

Al Marzouqi expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, for his support of equestrian sports in the UAE. He also extended thanks and appreciation to H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi, for his interest in show-jumping riders in the competition for titles.

He said the support by Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, President of Abu Dhabi Ladies Club, and President of Al Ain Ladies Club, and owner and founder of Al Shira’aa Stables, was the main motive for the showjumping riders reaching the stage of global competitiveness.
