The UAE equestrian team added a seventh medal with a bronze in the team jumping event at the Tongu Equestrian Centre in Hangzhou, China, on Wednesday. It was an Gulf-dominated final with Saudi Arabia taking gold with Qatar and the UAE following suit on the podium.
The team of Mohamed Al Hajri on the horse GS Fabian, Omar Al Marzouqi (Dalida van de Zuuthoeve), Abdulla Al Marri (James Oude) and Salem Al Suwaidi (Diamond Way) clocked a total time of 120.58 seconds that was enough to win third place behind Saudi Arabia (111.83) and Qatar (117.84), all of which completed the hurdle levels without any penalties.

In the two qualifying rounds, the UAE riders achieved the minimum height of 140-centimetre hurdles with ease. As the competition grew, the height was raised to 145cm, separating the Arab nations in a close-knit intense contest.
With this win, the UAE has won five bronze medals, one silver and a gold, and are fifth among Arab nations on the medal tally.
