Severe storms caused flooding across several Greek islands in the Aegean Sea on Monday.
Traffic was temporarily halted on islands including Mykonos, Paros and Chios as a result of the flooding. Schools across these islands will remain closed until further notice, newspaper Kathimerini reported.
There have been no reports of injuries so far, according to the report. The stormy weather is expected to persist for at least another day.
On Paros, intense rainfall led to rockslides and flooded streets. Two people were trapped in their car due to the floodwaters and had to be rescued. Others were unable to leave their homes.
Hailstorms also affected many areas. On Chios, a ferry attempting to dock was unable to do so after its ropes tore the bollards from the quay, newspaper To Proto Thema reported.
The ship was forced to turn away due to the rough conditions.
