Michael Jackson fans will be thrilled to hear that some of the King of Pop’s most iconic items are set to be auctioned right here in Abu Dhabi.

The famous red-and-black leather jacket the late star wore in his “Thriller” music video, as well as his trademark rhinestone-studded “Billie Jean’ glove, will be going under the hammer at Rosewood Abu Dhabi on December 7 to 9.

Other recognisable memorabilia among the over-100 pieces on sale include his original “moonwalk” loafers worn during his Motown 25 performance in 1983.

The historic “Michael Jackson: The Fashion Legacy Auction Evening Sale” is being organised by Julien’s Auctions.

The renowned auction house's website said: “Julien’s Auctions is excited to announce another record-breaking auction later this year with Michael Jackson: The Fashion Legacy Evening Auction.

“The auction will form part of Julien’s Celebrity & Pop Culture Experience, taking place December 7-9 at Rosewood Abu Dhabi.

“The auction will include over one hundred extraordinary pieces, including four that changed celebrity fashion, music, and pop culture, capturing the moment Michael Jackson became a global superstar.

“These highlight pieces are now returning to auction after nearly two decades, including the iconic black and candy red calf leather jacket, worn by Michael Jackson in the 1983 music video for his smash hit ‘Thriller’.”

Among some of the incredible pieces are stage, music video, and personally worn designs created by Michael Jackson’s longtime costume designers Dennis Tompkins and Michael Bush.

Whether you’re a serious bidder or just a MJ fan, enjoy a rare opportunity to get up close to these pop culture treasures at a public exhibition leading up to the auction.
