Get ready to embrace the holiday spirit as "Elf the Musical" makes its way to Abu Dhabi for a performance at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island on December 14 and 15, bringing joy, laughter, and a touch of magic.
"Elf the Musical" is a stage adaptation of the 2003 holiday film "Elf", which starred Will Ferrell. The musical features a score by Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin, with a book adapted by Bob Martin and Thomas Meehan.
The musical made its Broadway debut in 2010, quickly becoming a holiday favourite. In addition to its Broadway runs, "Elf the Musical" has enjoyed successful productions in London's West End, with performances in 2015, 2022, and 2023. The show has also toured extensively across the United States and internationally, often during the holiday season.
The musical first made its way to the UAE in 2022, with performances at The Theatre at the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai.
Supported by the Department of Culture and Tourism, Abu Dhabi, and presented by Theory Eleven Entertainment, the arrival of the production in Abu Dhabi is a testament to the city's growing reputation as a cultural hub. The Etihad Arena, known for hosting world-class events, will be transformed into a winter wonderland for this special production.
The show is produced and directed by Jon Conway, known for his work in pantomime and musical comedy.
The Abu Dhabi production of "Elf the Musical" features Jordan Conway in the role of Buddy the Elf. The ensemble cast includes Kelly Benlaki as Jovie, Buddy's love interest and Barry Bloxham as Walter Hobbs, Buddy's biological father.
