Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has launched Procurement Connect, a new initiative designed to help companies prepare for future procurement and supply opportunities with leading organisations across the emirate.
Introduced during a dedicated forum hosted by the Chamber, the initiative brings together major organisations, private sector representatives and media professionals on a single platform for direct dialogue, knowledge exchange and business planning.
Procurement Connect aims to give companies, with a focus on small and medium-sized enterprises, earlier insight into the future priorities, procurement plans and requirements of major organisations.
The initiative is intended to help businesses plan ahead, improve their competitiveness and position themselves more effectively for upcoming opportunities across key sectors of Abu Dhabi's economy.
Speaking at the event, Aida Al Khoori, Director of Business Connect and Services at Abu Dhabi Chamber, said that the initiative was created to help companies better prepare for future opportunities across Abu Dhabi.
"We launched Procurement Connect to enhance businesses' readiness and help companies benefit from future procurement opportunities across Abu Dhabi," she said.
Al Khoori added that the initiative gives businesses "early visibility into future priorities and procurement requirements", allowing them to plan ahead and prepare more effectively.
She explained that the platform brings together leading organisations and the private sector "to foster knowledge sharing, collaboration and opportunities", supporting the Chamber's work to build stronger connections across Abu Dhabi's business ecosystem.
Al Khoori revealed that SMEs account for about 98% of businesses operating in Abu Dhabi and contribute approximately 42% of the emirate's non-oil GDP, making their access to future contracts an important part of private sector growth.
She added that Abu Dhabi Chamber is focused on "empowering the private sector by creating value through knowledge, opportunities and strategic partnerships", while helping companies understand market demand and connect with organisations that can support their expansion.
The forum featured Etihad Airways, e& UAE and ADNOC Group, which shared insights into their future procurement priorities and requirements with attending businesses.
The event also gave companies an opportunity to speak directly with participating entities, explore possible areas of cooperation and identify routes into upcoming projects.
Through Procurement Connect, Abu Dhabi Chamber is seeking to improve private sector readiness, give SMEs clearer access to market intelligence and help more local companies compete for future procurement and supply opportunities across the emirate.
